Dock Seals & Shelters by Fairborn USA Inc.

Dock Seals

The basic dock seal is most effective when servicing uniform vehicles at a dock having common parameters. The vehicle positioned at the dock compresses the resilient foam pads to create an airtight seal at the dock opening.

Fairborn dock seals are available in a variety of series to accommodate various applications. An extensive selection of options allows each series to be further tailor fit to effectively service numerous types and sizes of vehicles at a wide range of openings.

Dock Shelters

Dock shelters accommodate the widest range of truck and building variations while yielding unobstructed accessibility to the interior of the vehicle. The shelter uses flexible fabric curtains to "hug" the top and sides of the truck body upon entering, closing off any air gap between the vehicle and the building.

For a snug fit, Scotchply™ stays are encased into all faces of the cover fabric, while the edges of each curtain are fitted with a sewn-in, compressible neoprene cord to conform to the vehicle body irregularities.

Foam bottom pads prevent air infiltration at the lower corners, and special wind straps keep the head curtain in place. We even use translucent fiberglass outer panels to permit natural light penetration to save on lighting bills.

Fairborn shelters include heavy-duty steel channel guards to mount directly on the building to prevent damage from misaligned trucks. In addition, all shelters are fitted with polished aluminum trim and raked headers to assure adequate drainage while preventing water damage to the dock area.

Our seals and shelters also incorporate high visibility safety-yellow guide strips to facilitate accurate truck positioning.

Series 1000
Foam Dock Seal
with Fixed Head Pad

This provides airtight protection to the loading dock area during material handling operations. It is most effective when servicing uniform vehicles at a dock having common parameters.

The vehicle positioned at the dock compresses the resilient foam pads, eliminating the gap between the facility and the vehicle body.

Series 1200
Foam Dock Seal
with Adjustable Head Pad

This provides airtight protection while effectively servicing varying height vehicles at a wide range of door heights.

The superior adjustable head pad design provides for easy positioning, while the continuous follower curtain seals above the head pad throughout it's full travel.

Series 1400
Foam Dock Seal
with Head Curtain

This accommodates a wide range of vehicle and door height variations by the means of a full width head curtain, held taut by tension straps at each end. The supported head curtain is sloped to ensure adequate drainage.

A split curtain, adjustable by the means of pull ropes and an intermediate foam pad are a few of the head curtain opens.

Series 2000
Rigid Dock Shelter

This provides excellent weather protection for a wide range of truck and building variations, while yielding unobstructed accessibility to the interior of the vehicle.

Flexible Scotchply™ stays ensure that head and side curtain pressure is maintained on the truck body while compressible neoprene cords conform to the vehicle's irregular perimeter, guaranteeing a snug fit.

Translucent panels secured to the exterior of the structural frames protect the dock area, while allowing natural light penetration. The head frame is sloped from center to provide for adequate drainage. A shelter constructed of our superior performance Dynalon fabric ensures maximum durability.

Series 3000
Flexible Dock Shelter

This may be an alternate selection when space limitations or other considerations preclude the use of a rigid dock shelter.

The shelter is normally in the extended position and uses spring tension to hold the curtains tight to the truck body upon vehicle entry.

A split curtain further adds to this unit's versatility in servicing a wide range of vehicles. A combination of our superior performance materials guarantees this unit will withstand the most demanding requirements.

Series 4000
Flexible Rail Shelter

This is a spring-loaded fabric rail enclosure available in a three or four-sided configuration. It is designed to encapsulate the space between the building opening and a rail car to ensure weatherproof protection to the dock area.

Once the rail car is positioned, spring tension entends the fabric enclosure, maintaining pressure against the side of the vehicle. Our superior performance Dynaflex fabric will greatly increase this unit's life expectancy.
